Household cleanup dumpsters are built for the way a home job actually goes: a few days of filling, a weekend push, then a call to have it hauled. You choose the dates and we place the container where you want it, with boards under the rails if your driveway needs protecting.

Cleanouts are the most common job: garages that have become storage, attics and bonus rooms full of boxes, rental units between tenants, and whole-house cleanouts after a move or a death in the family. A 15 or 20-yard container handles most of them in one go.

Most residential dumpsters go on the driveway, and on a private driveway or lot there is no City of Murfreesboro permit involved. If the container has to sit in the street, City Code § 28-11 says nothing may obstruct the right-of-way without a permit first, and the published right-of-way permit is $50 per street under § 28-103, doubled if the work starts before it is issued. It comes from the City Engineer’s office at 111 West Vine Street through the Right-of-Way Coordinator (615-893-6441 ext. 1626), and warning signs are required day and night. We ring the Coordinator before any street placement rather than guess.

Furniture, boxes, clothing, toys, carpet, flooring, drywall, lumber, cabinets, fixtures, yard waste and general junk are all fine. Tennessee keeps some things out of every dumpster: whole tires, lead-acid batteries and used oil are barred from landfills by state law, wet paint cannot go to a landfill, lithium batteries must not go in the trash, and refrigerators and air conditioners need the refrigerant recovered first. Since 1 August 2026 the Rutherford County Transfer Station also refuses mattresses in mixed loads, so tell us if you have several.
